Project description provided by Peter Haimerl . Architektur - The Archive of the Future is a space for events and exhibitions. It aims to inform about
innovations, encourage exchange and initiative, connect the city, and promote future
sustainability.
For centuries, Lichtenfels has been known for its wicker baskets, and in the design of city
center, citizens have felt compelled to express their wealth and pride through ornamental
building elements, creating an attractive setting for good business. The concept for the
design thus combines tradition and innovation, nature and architecture, as well as interior
and exterior spaces, opening up to the marketplace and its visitors.
The idea is ambitious and prompts all involved in the construction to seek new, previously
unexplored paths to make the implementation possible. A team of architects, structural
engineers, civil engineers, and specialists in steel construction, glass facades, and cooling
systems is tasked with the planning. The goal is to realize an architecture - a building and a
sculpture - for which all involved will depart from familiar work routines and seek new ways
of implementation.
