NSW Leads Growth in Building Trade Apprenticeships
Subject
New data shows 16,018 new building trade apprentices started nationally in Q1 2026, up 9.1%. NSW remains the leader with starts up 10.1% and completions up 30% to 3,505. National completions rose 18.1% to 8,602, but withdrawals are over 5%. Still-in-training numbers fell 5.2% nationally. Inflation and higher costs could dampen future activity.
