Project Description
The Wave House in Hargeisa serves as a poignant narrative of resilience and heritage, weaving together the stories of first-generation returnees forging a new chapter in their family's history. Located in the outskirts of Hargeisa, in the region of Somaliland the house is inspired by the undulating waves of the nearby Gulf of Aden, which gently caress the shores of Berbera and the entire Horn of Africa region, symbolizing both a physical and metaphorical return to the shores of ancestral identity. At its core, the Wave House serves as a reflection of hope and renewal, offering a glimpse into the journey of those who have returned to reclaim their cultural heritage and shape a future rooted in resilience and pride. It is a testament to the enduring spirit of the Somali people and their unwavering commitment to building a brighter tomorrow despite past challenges.
