Project Description
Project description provided by Baldasso Cortese - Completed in 2021, Bonnet Point House Tasmania was inspired by the beautiful 5 hectare parcel of land surrounding it, secluded from neighbours with panoramic views over River Derwent to the South.
The extensive glazing provides a sense of being at one with the landscape and reduces reliance on artificial lighting. Steven Cortese, Design Director, says his favourite thing about the house is that upon approach, through the forest, the drama of the house reveals itself. The cantilever and how the materials fit into the landscape pose one story, but once inside the house, it dematerialises in front of your eyes because of the strong connection to the landscape.
