Project Description
Project description by Andreas Gruber Architects - The project is a contribution to a new building culture in the hospitality industry. It is an ambitious project that pushes the boundaries of the traditional hotel concept. As a pioneer of sustainable architecture and innovative design, it offers a unique synthesis of modern comfort and ecological awareness.
The Olm is located in Sand in Taufers, South Tyrol, amidst a special natural landscape, and embodies a new era of hospitality. It features 33 apartment suites, which are complemented by a special culinary offering. The Olm is a zero-emission concept that utilizes geothermal energy and solar power, setting new standards for environmentally friendly operation.
The architecture of the Olm is a breathtaking fusion of form and function. The two-story ring of the building has been thoughtfully integrated into the landscape to create seamless harmony between indoor and outdoor spaces and to ensure consistent quality for the spatial program. The lush glass surfaces blur the boundaries between inside and outside, offering guests spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
Inside the Olm, guests can find an oasis of tranquility and luxury. The 33 apartment suites feature various amenities, including private saunas, freestanding bathtubs, paneled lounges and living areas, as well as sleeping areas oriented to maximize views of the natural landscape. The central area of the hotel, known as "Prenn," is a place for gathering and enjoyment. Here, guests can find different functions, including the culinary offerings and an inviting lounge area with a stone oven.
The Olm embodies the future of hospitality—a future based on respect for the environment, innovation, and luxury without compromise. It is a tribute to the beauty of nature and the endless diversity of human creativity.
